Every person lives in their own world with their own thoughts. But it may be a trap of mind that is constantly avoiding danger. You get some bad experience, and then you start thinking that the world is wicked. Until you meet a person that transforms your mindset and pulls you out of rumination.

That’s the kind of a message I wanted to convey in my song “Another Dimension”. And the person that turned the tables was my named father Igumen Yevmeniy (or Evgeniy Mikhailovich). He opened the divine source of self, the knowldge of that spark that ignites life in everyone. This thing goes beyond every thought. And it acts pretty liberating. Your problems fade into the background and become solvable. Your thoughts become more clear and focused. You feel life on another level.

So I catched the vibe and started writing. Two chords, a simple descending melody, simplistic, medidative rhythms and timbres. And then something opens up and you fall in the chorus with distortion guitars and a modulated key. In the second verse, I added more percussion and recital, on which the arrangement goes bare. Then the second chorus, and in bridge, the music pivots to another genre, where synths come in to show that something has been conceived. In the last chorus everything comes back around, but enhanced with more synths and a choir of five voices. This is my favorite part, very bright and uplifting.

The song was easy to compose, as I knew in detail what I was about to write. It is the first song I made exclusively myself (except for the very end where there is a quote of the same entitled song performed by Gambeat Combo), and produced very cheaply (I spent less than 100$). Vocals were recorded at the Gambeat Combo’s home studio. However, the song was mixed and mastered at the studio.

The cover art represents a cocoon of thoughts, through which the internal cosmos is leaking. Credits to Ivan Matyukhin for the elaboration of my idea.

Go listen to it and open your other dimension!
